Who we are.
The Ford Agency is a full-service staffing agency serving the greater Washington area. We provide exceptional placement services for permanent, temporary and temp-to-perm positions. Since 1978, The Ford Agency has been a leader in the Washington D.C. staffing industry, serving clients from all business settings. Our company was co-founded by Barbara Pisarra and Diana Ford, who are both still active recruiters for the company and continue to lead our team in placement services.
As a new client, what can I expect?
Before starting the employee search, new clients should expect to have a detailed conversation with one of our recruiters. We want to know about your unique office environment, the atmosphere candidates will be working in and the specific requirements and demands of your open position. Our recruiters will come and meet with you personally at your office to get a first-hand account of your needs and then apply this knowledge when reaching out to appropriate candidates. In addition, we’ll ask you about your company’s culture and benefits, as well as its short and long-term goals for prospective employees.
What types of positions does The Ford Agency specialize in placing?
The Ford Agency typically handles support-oriented positions in legal, administration, human resources, accounting, finance, research, IT, marketing and communications settings. Over the past decade, our expertise has also grown to encompass a number of director and executive-level positions. Because of the broad range of candidates we work with, we also invite special requests and welcome the opportunity to expand our expertise.
How does The Ford Agency screen candidates?
Whether you are looking for a permanent or temporary employee, we rigorously screen all candidates through a structured qualifications process. This includes phone screenings, in-person interviews, skills testing, verifications and reference checking. To ensure you receive only the most qualified candidates, our recruiting team personally handles all references and asks questions directly related to the skills relevant to your position.
For computer skills, each applicant's proficiency is tested using ProveIt! by Kenexa. The program allows us to test applicants in over 300 software programs, as well as a variety of specialized skills in accounting, legal, international, health care and technical settings. At the client's request, we will also perform applicant background checks.
