Job Description

The Ford Agency is recruiting for a professional legal Finance Director to join a prestigious DC law firm. This role will work closely with the CFO and contribute to the overall management of firm best practices and utilization of innovative software and financial systems for the firm. This is an excellent opportunity for a legal finance specialist who is looking to work with a forward and proactive thinking team to take their next step in leadership.

Responsibilities Include:
  • Oversee primary accounting and financial systems usage for the firm
  • Coordinate department budgets, cost management, and vendor selection and contracts
  • Establish goals, timelines, and key points for various project plans
  • Direct department training programs and implementation efforts across the firm
  • Identify and implement appropriate usage of AI into core financial functions 
  • Stay up to date on industry best practices and technology, advising leadership on latest trends
Qualifications Include:
  • Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, or IT related field, PMP certification a plus
  • 8+ years of systems implementation, analysis, and process improvement in the accounting space
    • Law firm experience strongly preferred
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience
  • Solid experience in relational database design, Excel, Power Query, Python, T-SQL
  • Strong forecasting and budgeting experience, BigHand Intellistat a plus
  • Strategic mindset and excellent professional judgement
Candidates for this position must be based in DC, MD, or VA area or have independent plans for relocation.
