Responsibilities Include: 

  • Draft and proofread legal documents for attorneys
  • Manage case materials including pleadings, files, calendars, and other materials
  • Cite checking including creating Table of Authorities and Table of Contents
  • Edit briefs to Blue Book standards and court rules
  • Perform legal research and compile key findings
  • Prepare for depositions, hearings, trials, and arbitrations
  • Assemble exhibits, appendices, witness materials, and other documents
  • Process billing paperwork
  • Assist with other projects as needed
 

Qualifications Include: 

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 5+ years' experience as a Litigation Paralegal
  • Experience supporting complex litigation processes
  • Expert-level proficiency with legal research software, such as Westlaw and Lexis Nexis
  • Intermediate proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
  • Expert level cite-checking required
  • Blue-booking experience
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills
  • High-level of professionalism, ability to thrive under pressure, and ability to handle high-stress situations with diplomacy and tact

Legal Administrative Assistant

Candidates for this position must be based in DC, MD, or VA area or have independent plans for relocation.

The Ford Agency is recruiting for a motivated and dedicated Legal Administrative Assistant for one of DC's top litigation firms. This role provides administrative support to attorneys, and works closely with clients to assist with client matters. If you have 2+ years of administrative experience and are looking to provide support to a busy team of attorneys this could be a great role for you! This role is onsite 5 days/week.

Responsibilities include:

  • Provide administrative support to attorneys including:
    • Calendar Management
    • Coordinate meeting logistics
    • Travel coordination
  • Prepare binders for attorneys
  • Maintain and update client files including correspondence and client pleadings
  • Prepare expense reports and enter billing information
  • Draft and proofread documents
  • Assist with special projects as needed

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 2+ years of administrative experience
    • Strong internships considered
    • Legal experience a plus
  • Advanced MS Office skills
