Legal Professional Development Specialist

The Ford Agency is actively recruiting for a poised Professional Development Specialist to join a top-notch DC law firm. This individual will work closely with the Professional Development team in overseeing attorney arrivals, transfers, departures, and performance evaluations. The successful candidate will have 4 years of professional development experience, experience in a professional services firm, and supervisory experience. Responsibilities Include: 
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and make recommendations to further professional development for staff and attorneys
  • Collaborate with Diversity and Inclusion and other HR teams to promote new initiatives 
  • Oversee attorney onboarding, orientations, and offboarding
  • Collaborate with benefits team to manage leaves of absence, flexible schedules, and other benefits for attorneys
  • Manage attorney evaluation processes
  • Assist with other Professional Development projects and programs 
Qualifications Include: 
  • 4+ years of Professional Development experience 
    • Experience in legal or professional services strongly preferred
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Knowledge of best practices in professional and career development
  • Strong command of the principles and practices of personnel administration 
  • Leadership skills and confidence to spearhead HR initiatives in a fast-paced environment
