The Ford Agency is actively recruiting for an up and coming Finance and Operations Manager to join a cutting-edge VC-backed tech startup. This individual will support the COO across finance, operations, and HR functions, including financial modeling, reporting, payroll, recruiting operations, and process improvement. This is a great opportunity for someone 1-2 years out of school or a recent MBA who is looking for startup experience and to grow with a high-impact, focused team! The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with long-term leadership goals and a passion for solving complex problems.
Responsibilities Include:
Partner with the COO to manage budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting
Oversee payroll, accounts payable/receivable, and monthly financial close
Maintain financial records, contracts, and legal documentation
Assist with employee onboarding, compliance, and recruiting operations
Contribute to internal systems improvements and operational best practices
Support compliance and vendor onboarding processes
Qualifications Include:
Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Math, Economics, or related field, MBA a plus
1+ years of finance experience, preferably in a startup environment
Advanced Excel and Google Sheets proficiency
Experience with AP/AR, payroll, and financial reporting
Strong communication, time management, and problem-solving skills
Candidates for this position must be based in DC, MD, or VA area or have independent plans for relocation.
