The Ford Agency is actively recruiting for a temp to hire litigation paralegal to join a mid-size DC law firm. The paralegal will work closely with attorneys, perform research, cite-check briefs, and assist with their discovery processes. This is a great opportunity for someone with 2 years of legal support experience within the federal litigation sector looking to make a true impact with a firm dedicated to their staff. This is a temp to hire position and is available immediately.
Responsibilities Include:
- Cite-check and proofread briefs and pleadings
- File documents with courts using CM/ECF system
- Assist with discovery processes
- Perform legal research and compile key findings
- Manage case materials including pleadings, files, calendars, and other materials
- Track deadlines for regulatory reviews
- Challenge agency actions in administrative proceedings
Qualifications Include:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Paralegal Certificate preferred
- 2+ years of experience with federal litigation support
- Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
- Proficiency with PACER/CM-ECF
- Experience with cite-checking
- High-level of professionalism, ability to thrive under pressure, and ability to handle high-stress situations with diplomacy and tact
- Familiarity with agency investigations and enforcement actions
- Experience using e-discovery tools
Candidates for this position must be based in DC, MD, or VA area or have independent plans for relocation.
