The Ford Agency is actively recruiting for a temp to hire litigation paralegal to join a mid-size DC law firm. The paralegal will work closely with attorneys, perform research, cite-check briefs, and assist with their discovery processes. This is a great opportunity for someone with 2 years of legal support experience within the federal litigation sector looking to make a true impact with a firm dedicated to their staff. This is a temp to hire position and is available immediately.
Responsibilities Include:
Cite-check and proofread briefs and pleadings
File documents with courts using CM/ECF system
Assist with discovery processes
Perform legal research and compile key findings
Manage case materials including pleadings, files, calendars, and other materials
Track deadlines for regulatory reviews
Challenge agency actions in administrative proceedings
Qualifications Include:
Bachelor's Degree
Paralegal Certificate preferred
2+ years of experience with federal litigation support
Proficient with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook)
Proficiency with PACER/CM-ECF
Experience with cite-checking
High-level of professionalism, ability to thrive under pressure, and ability to handle high-stress situations with diplomacy and tact
Familiarity with agency investigations and enforcement actions
Experience using e-discovery tools
Candidates for this position must be based in DC, MD, or VA area or have independent plans for relocation.
