Job Description

The Ford Agency is seeking an experienced and creative Interim Exhibit Manager to oversee exhibitions, collections, and public programming for a DC-based museum and its global campus. The ideal candidate will have strong project management skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for cultural interpretation and education. This is a temporary role with an immediate start!Responsibilities Include:
  • Oversee daily site needs including front of house and visitor needs
  • Mange extensive preproduction and exhibit installation calendars
  • Oversee and coordinate volunteer and docent scheduling and staff planning
  • Handle space programing and rentals
  • Assist with researching potential exhibit content
  • Coordinate with programming team on visitor experience strategy 
  • Coordinate with outside groups for partner engagement
Qualifications Include:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Museum Studies, Art History, History, or related field
  • 3+ years of museum management, exhibitions, or programming experience
  • Strong writing, editing, and presentation skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 
  • Experience collaborating with vendors, curators, and institutional partners
  • Proficiency in MS Office; knowledge of collections or CMS software a plus

Candidates for this position must be based in DC, MD, or VA area or have independent plans for relocation.
